Finished changing the oil this morning and it was too nice a day to let her sit there.

North from Greenville, SC on Hwy 25 to Travelers Rest, SC. This is what we call the "way up." Out of TR to SC Scenic Hwy 11 to US 276. This is where the road goes into some of the best twisties in SC. There's a history of several CBR and Ninja crashes on the road up to Caesar's Head (Mountain.) Tight, decreasing radius, high bank turns come at you left and right. Young kids buy crotch rockets and leave the dealerships heading for this road. It turns out bad for some of em. Heard of two last year that crashed on the same day they bought the bike. It's a damm shame.

Over the mountain and into North Carolina. A BMW  K Series appears in the Connie's rear view. I don't mind a little company and give the guy a lesson in what REAL Sport Touring is all about.

Into Brevard. A nice little college town with a surprising number of relocated Yankees! From Brevard West on Hwy 64 to Rosman. Rosman's claim to fame (besides their high school football team) is a former NASA tracking station located in a cool valley about 10 miles out of town on Hwy 215 in the Pisgah Forest. This is beautiful country.

Out of Rosman on Hwy 178 back into SC and home. This road may be one of the best for motorcycles anywhere around. It's wide with great views ahead and lots of twisties. Perfect for the Connie. One problem...the views are so great it's hard to concentrate on the turns. A lack of concentration can put you down quick.

This was my first good run for the new Connie. What a GREAT bike. I wonder whatever happened to the BMW?
