2005 Spider Ride |
|
Howdy, I'm the new AD for the North Central Area.
Some of you may know me from Wisconsin COG rides and the National Rallies. I'm the guy that looks like Gabby Hays on a bad day. I hope to meet a lot more of you in the near future. I live in Coon Valley, WI. just outside of LaCrosse. Smack dab in the center of some of the greatest riding in the Midwest. Anybody passing through is welcome to stop in for a cup of coffee or a guided tour of some super twisties.
I'm an old geezer, single and retired, so I'm usually in the shop working on bikes if I'm not out riding. I currently have 3 Connies, two 03s and a parts bike. I guess you could call me a gear-head. I enjoy working on bikes almost as much as riding. I've been riding for over 50 years.
First bike was a Schwinn with a Briggs & Stratten welded onto it Would do 50 mph downhill. I've been riding Kawasaki LTD 1000s for the last 20 years and Connies since 03. My main bike is an 03 Connie with a 17"X5" rear rim, ZRX1100 front forks and wheel, a ZZR1200 rear shock, ZZR1200 clutch, Tokico 6pot front calipers, seventh gear final drive, and a few other engine and suspension mods. I've done all the work myself so I guess I'm ether a gear-head or just plain weird. I could have bought a 1400 for less than I've got in "Ol' Red" but it wouldn't have been near as much fun. I'm not much good at paperwork but I'll give this job my best shot and try to do as good a job of representing you guys as Larry did.
I want to thank Larry for the great job he did as AD, especially the super National he co-hosted in South Dakota. With the new Internet program COG is really moving forward. I hope we can all work together to make it an even better club than it is now. See you all on the road, Keep the shiny side up.
