The following instructions and tips are for Eudora Pro version 4.0. With minor changes, they should also apply to Eudora lite (the free version from Qualcomm), as well as the latest upgrades. Click on the thumnails for a larger picture |

Load Eudora, and from the "Tools" menu, select "Options" |

Scroll down the left hand pane of the options screen, and select the "Sending Mail" icon. the right screen should look like this picture to the right. Note that 'may use Quoted Printable' is unchecked, and there is no defaut stationery selected. |

Scroll down the left pane of the options screen, and select the "Attachments" icon. Note that MIME is selected, and "Put text attachments in the body" is unchecked. |

Scroll down the left pane of the options screen, and select the "Miscellaneous" icon. In the right hand panel, the most important configuration option is the "Discard styles before sending. This option ensures that messages to the cog listserver are sent as plain text, even if the message you're replying to (or forwarding) includes HTML ot rich text formatting. |

That should about do it as far as a basic configuration to send messages as plain text is concerned. |
