A few photos in the back parking lot at rally headquarters, the Holiday Inn in Frisco, Colorado. Plus one at Tennessee Pass.
The ride from Frisco to the open house at Grand Prix Motorsports in Littleton. On the way we crossed the Continental Divide at Hoosier Pass, passed through the old mining town of Fairplay, stopped at Kenosha Pass for a short history and geography lesson about South Park (the huge, high altitude valley, not the TV show), visited Coney Island near Bailey for hot dogs and milk shakes, and wound our way down the 130+ turns of Turkey Creek and Deer Creek Canyons. Thanks to Tony Hayter and the staff for their hospitality, the food and drinks, and t-shirts.
This year's Two-Bits Rally was held on Friday and offered riders a 6-hour introduction to 24-hour rallies such as the Utah 1088 and the LOE 1000 . Everyone met bright and early for a riders' meeting and route planning, then depending on their choices, took off for points somewhere between Steamboat Springs and Canon City. Along the way they could collect bonus points for such things as the Cobra helicopter in Kremmling, Skyline Drive at Canon City, Spring Canyon near Buena Vista, historical markers in various places, and Hoosier, Cottonwood, and Fremont Passes. Everyone poured back into Frisco around 3 p.m., bonus lists were scored, winners announced, and door prizes handed out.
License plates spotted in the parking lot at Frisco.
