We arrived at the starting point, the Wendy's in Woodland Park at 9:30, by the leave time of 10AM., there we three Connies so we headed out on 24W. to Divide and picked up 67S. toward Cripple Creek. The Sunshine was warm and the view of the backside of the Peak was awesome!

Instead of going into Cripple Creek, we pick up Teller Co. 81 and ride the aspen laced backcountry sweepers by old gold mines, thru the hamlet of GoldField, CO. at 10,000ft. and the back way into Victor. LOL, we had to do a bit of "moto-Xing" on a dirt road as they had some kind of a "parade" taking up the paved road thru Victor. We shot a berm or two and got back on 67S., this is a sweet twisty road and the view of the canyon over the new high bridge was great. On the other side is one very large "gold leaching" pit process, where they are "leaching" the last ounces of gold out of the "mine talings" left from the old area GoldMines!

Past the bridge more twisty's and views down into Cripple Creek itself, the gaming has made Cripple Creek at madhouse on weekends so we head out of town to pick up Teller Co. 1 and more twisty's and sweepers, heading for our stop at the Evergreen Station, the intersection of Teller Co. 1 and 11. We stop for a break, some water and take a couple of pictures. Rested and refreshed, we take to Teller Co. 11, a fairly new road that is now paved and it a sweet, roller coaster of up and down sweepers thru the lower foothill country. It's great road to "open" it up a little and let the Connie's fly! We ride this road all the way to CO. 9N., then head for the lunch stop at the "Freshwater Saloon and General Store in Guffey. It's a neat little place and the food is good and cheap! We grub and yack and then get back on the bikes for more back road sweepers heading back to Teller Co.11 for another romp going the opposite direction.

Back to Teller Co. 1N. and heading for the final stop at the Homestead House parking lot. We stop and chat some more, it was a great day of riding with the fellow COG'ers. A rain drop splats on the bikes, we all decide it's time to head for home. Heading east on CO 24 we head back down over Ute Pass and towards Colorado Springs where the other break off and head to the barn. Sometimes you don't have to go "far", to really enjoy a good day of riding!
