Women's Breakfast
We have a women'
breakfast scheduled for Thursday, August 9, 8AM to 9:00AM. The resort
will open the lounge adjacent to the main dining area for us. We
can mix and mingle apart from the men. (Sorry guys - no men, even
if you do know the secret handshake). The price of the breakfast
is $10.00 per person and will be collected in advance. Breakfast
will be a buffet that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns,
cereals, breads, fruits and beverages. I hope you all can attend
and look forward to meeting you.

The area surrounding
Canaan Valley features some unique shops. You can click on www.canaanresort.com
for a complete listing, but here are some highlights. The MountainMade
Artisan Gallery features the work of 600 West Virginia artisans
and craftspeople and is located in a restored coal company store.
The MountainMade Country Store has locally baked bread and tarts,
soaps and oils, children toys and crafts. Other places of interest
include Ben's Old Loom Barn, specializing in hand woven items made
by a working hand weaver. The Christmas Shop in Thomas sells Christmas
collectibles and accessories for the home. The Art Company of Davis
features regionally made arts and crafts. And finally, for those
former flower children and old hippies, Three Seeds sells incense,
herbs, and handmade jewelry. If we can get enough advance commitments
for participation, we may be able to provide transport to and from
Mountain Made via shuttle bus.
