Folks from the
COG Northeast, Southeast, and Norhtcentral Area have had opportunities
to visit Canaan Valley Resort.
The first time
was in early August 2006, when the COG
NE Area "Dogs Days" summer rally poker run used the
resort as a card pull & lunch stop. Visitors were able to strol
the facility and sample the cuisine of BBQ pulled pork sandwich
buffet with all the fixins'.
In mid September
there was a weekend "Scouting Mission" for members of
the Rally Committee. These folks spent a weekend checking out the
resort, many of the proposed sample routes, as well as exploring
the local attractions. Saturday evening they were treated to a sampling
of the same "Ya All Come Back Now" BBQ Banquet dinner
as planned for the 2007 National.

"Rooms
were nice, food was great, scenery was wonderful, but best
of all the tiki torch show was excellent! The staff is business
savvy, they are smart enough to cough up a nickel for a couple
of dollars! Good job Jason."

"I
am on a bit of a mission to drum up interest in Ohio to attend
the 2007 National Rally in Canaan Valley, WV next August and
to show those NorthEasterners that we can rally with the best
of them. I have been on a few trips to different parts of
WV over the past year or so, and can tell you that the roads
in WV have few equals in Ohio. The riding is fabulous. The
Dog Days Rally was my first rally of any kind. I had a great
time, not only riding, but meeting and getting to know so
many wonderful people. COGgers are the best. Distance
should not be an excuse to miss this National Rally. It is,
at most, a day ride from anywhere in Ohio and don't most of
us ride a Concours, a real long distance machine? Here's your
chance to use your bike the way it is meant to be used. C'mon,
let's go!!"
