Rally Report & Photos >>

Rally Location:
Canaan Valley Resort, Davis, WV

Heading to the mountains of West Virginia for an overnight or weekend event has been a perennial favorite on the Northeast Area ride schedule. The cooler mountain temperatures are a welcome escape from the typical heat of July & August. Toss in smooth asphalt, twisty mountain roads and wonderful Appalachia culture & scenery and this is the making of something big. So big, in fact, that we had to share it with all of COGdom…

The COG Northeast Area is excited to host the 2007 National Rally. Canaan Valley is located in the heart of some of the best riding & scenery you'll find on the east coast and it's sure to provide us with a wonderful rally location. We'll be using the tried and true Tuesday through Saturday format with the banquet on Thursday evening, providing ample time for travel.

Our rally headquarters, Canaan Valley Resort, and the local & state tourism boards are very motorcycle friendly and will make us feel very welcome! Smooth rolling hills, outstanding facilities, and temperatures 15 degrees cooler than surrounding areas make Canaan Valley Resort a favorite mountain resort. Nestled in a unique, mountain valley over 3,200 feet above sea level, this four-season recreational resort is nestled amid more than 6,300 acres of state parkland on the edge of the Monongahela National Forest. A 250-room lodge, with a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, saunas and an exercise room, vacation cottages & cabins, and 34-site campground area offer park guests a wide variety of accommodations all within a mile or so of each other. The resort also offers a full range of outdoor diversions including an 18-hole championship golf course, swimming, tennis, fishing, hiking, biking, paintball, and other activities. With all this to offer you may even consider bringing the entire family.

Latest Rally News & Updates...

Mountain Biking @ Canaan Resort - Here is some last minute info. Paul Gerhardt is interested in having people contact him if they are interested in an ‘easy’ ride. He is thinking Thu– Fri. Canaan is a great place to enjoy another popular 2-wheel activity. Mt.Bikes are available for rent at the resort and the area has lots of X-C ski trails that can provide a pleasant and easy ride. For the extreme sport enthusiast (not me) you can also do high-speed downhill runs from the top of
the ski hill. The resort will provide trail maps and maybe even a guided ride if we get a group together. Helmets are included in bike rental. If you are interested in a 1-2 hour ride on a gently sloping XC trail let me know and maybe we can get a small group together. The resources are at the resort if you want to plan you own.
