The Nebraska 81 - South Dakota I-90 is a combination of 4 lane expressways, 2 lane highways and Interstate travel to Hill City.  Major attractions found along this route include the following:

Norfolk, NE is the hometown of the late Johnny Carson.  The Missouri River where the Louis and Clark Expedition stayed and explored can be seen from the Yankton scenic overlook.  Yankton is also famous for its Double Decker Highway Bridge.  Mitchell, SD is home to the Corn Palace and to the outdoor enthusiast store Cabela’s.  The attractions in the town of Chamberlain include Akta Lakota, Old West Museum, and Lake Francis Case.   The Pioneer Auto Museum – located in Murdo - has over 250 antique cars and a motorcycle room.  Wall, SD has the world famous Wall Drug, Badlands National Park, and National Grasslands Visitor Center.  The trip to Hill City can be made in one day from Lincoln, but the towns of Mitchell, Chamberlain, Kadoka, Wall and Rapid City all have good choices of motels and camping areas for overnight stays.
